Today - the day of Recovery!

So we made to KY and back alive and well. Both kids did so good and have recovered nicely. They seem to be doing better than I am! The trip was hard, but good. It was wonderful to see family, and the funeral was amazing. It was so good to be apart of celebrating someone's life, someone who loved Jesus and all those around him! Grandpa gave us all something to strive for! So here's a bunch of pix from the last week.
And side note. Today was Micah's 1 month appointment with the Dr. (even though he'll be 5 weeks tomorrow). He was 11lbs. 8oz, and 23 inches long. 90th percentile on everything! He had gained 2lbs. 2oz. in three weeks!!! He's a growing boy!! And he's healthy and doing well!!

Chillin at home...

Grandpa Stoneking is with Jesus

So it's been quite the day...I recieved a call this morning that my Grandpa was being taken to the Emergency Room in Winchester, KY because he was 'non-responsive'. About three hours later they called to let me know he had passed. My Mom and Dad just arrived back in Congo yesterday, and after many tears today, they are buying their tickets to head back to KY. The funeral will be in Nicholasville, KY on Saturday July 12th, 2008.
This is the first time death has hit me in such a rough way. My whole 29 years I have been close to my Grandpa...I don't know how to process death. Just pray for us as we pack up with a newborn and make the 10 hour trek to KY. Pray for my Mom and Dad as they fly back across the ocean. And pray for my Grandma...Mom is going to tell her when she sees her this weekend. Pray for all of us.
Hopefully soon I can post a blog with more light hearted news...and pictures.
Micah and Anna continue to bless us and keep us on our toes. And CONGRATS to Adam and Mindy on their little boy, Noah!!!!!!!!!! The sorrow of death makes us appreciate even more the birth of new life!!!!

So the last week has come and gone and not without much adventure. Most of you are clued in to the details of it all...induction gone south turned into an unplanned C-Section. After three very unpleasant days at the hospital we came home to have a few more unpleasant days. My Mom and Dad were here for a week...in which time my Mom slaved!!!! She cooked, cleaned, cooked, cleaned, did laundry, cooked more, cleaned more, and did more laundry...all while helping me with Micah! We could NOT have made it without her amazing help! She also kept the fridge stocked and well...helped us replace a few sad appliances around our house! Thank you Mom and Dad!!
My sister, Stephanie, is also here for a week. She leaves this coming Sunday morning. She has been Anna's constant companion. Playing with Anna and just loving on her in Mommy and Daddy's absences or busy times. Anna adores her Aunt Steph and even tonight would not go to the store with Daddy unless Aunt Steph came with. It's cute stuff and reminds us why living far from Family stinks! So enjoy those pictures and I'll give more details later on the un-joys of c-sections and the like.
All I know for now...is that I AM HOME with my wonderful family and my son is alive, healthy and a joy to love!!!

Last Time as a Mommy of One

Dear Friends and Family,

Just a quick update and final email before we offically become a family of FOUR!!!!
June 11th at 7:00 AM we are scheduled for an induction to 'help' Baby Boy Salvatori make his appearance into the world. We would greatly appreciate your prayers and thoughts as we embark on this new journey! It is scary and thrilling all at once!! As I am sure most of you can imagine! 9 months has gone by fast but these last few weeks and days seem to be dragging...we are READY!!!
Today is a day full of cleaning, packing, organizing and doing everything we can to get the house ready for when we return from the hospital!
We will also have family visiting over the whole month of June, which we are very excited about! We ask for your prayers for Anna as she adjust to new arrival "Baby Brother", and as friends care for her while we are in the hosptial. We have great faith that she will be an amazing Big Sister and a constant help!
Once we are home and settled we will try to get pictures and updates out...check blogs, and facebook for those as well!
Thanks for your friendships and love through all this!

For the last time as a Mommy of One,
Stacy for the Family
